What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember preferences, and provide information to site owners.
Altaris uses a combination of cookies and browser localStorage to deliver the platform. This policy explains what we use and why.
What we use
Essential (always active)
These are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled.
- altaris_auth (localStorage) — Stores your login session so you remain signed in. Contains your account details and plan status. Expires after 30 days. No personal financial data is stored here.
- altaris_deals (localStorage) — Stores your deal pipeline data locally in your browser during the current early-access phase. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers except where cloud sync is explicitly enabled.
- altaris_api_key (localStorage) — Stores your Anthropic API key locally in your browser. Never transmitted to Altaris servers.
Analytics (optional)
We may use anonymised analytics to understand how the platform is being used and to improve it. Where we do so, no personally identifiable information is collected. You can opt out by adjusting your browser settings.
Payment processing
When you make a purchase, Stripe may set cookies necessary for secure payment processing. These are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
What we do NOT use
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- We do not share cookie data with advertising networks.
- We do not use cookies to build profiles for targeted advertising.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies and localStorage through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Note: disabling localStorage will prevent you from staying signed in to the Altaris platform and may cause you to lose locally stored deal data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
